She's a Lady!

Having had a couple of unaccustomed late nights, this evening we intend to batten the hatches (well, close the shutters) and settle in front of the telly for our weekly rendezvous with delicious "Downton Abbey".

I always say, "Show me a programme with frocks, and I'll show you a happy bunny!"

Kevin always says, "Show me a programme with frocks, and I'll show you a bloke asleep on the sofa."

We are clearly not as one in our approach to period drama!

I grew up on "Upstairs, Downstairs" and have never quite recovered from the idea that having household staff was "A Good Thing".

My beloved did his best the other day by offering to assist.

When he had finished, he announced,

"I've ironed your tee shirt, milady.  Any chance of a shag?"

They do say that good staff are hard to find.

I'm starting to think it's true!
