Confession time.
I have a ridiculous passion for Kilner jars. I don't know why, because I have no idea what to put in them most of the time, but they just look so wonderful! Until today I owned one solitary 250ml Kilner jar that was given to me full of Quality Street one Christmas a decade or more ago and I've kept it ever since because I was convinced that one day I would learn to make something worthy of such a magnificent receptacle.
The difficulty of what to make has just been multiplied by quite a serious quantity!
This morning Stephane from next-door was in the middle of some attic clearance and asked me if I would like a load of jars that he was about to take to the recycling centre, as Corinne already had more preserving jars than she could use. Little did he know....
I jumped at the chance and spent all afternoon washing and drying the little darlings.
Then I stacked them all up for a group photo. Aaah!
Whilst I browse the pages of the Goddess, trying to decide whether I want to make Rhubarb Schnapps or Quince Brandy (I've got until September to decide about the Quince Brandy!), I filled a couple of the jars with some almonds that our friends Annick and Dominique from Nimes gave us - almonds from their own trees!
