Hey, Good Lookin'

Blimey, Kev's cookin'!

We were invited by our lovely neighbour Corinne (affectionately referred to by us, though probably nobody else, as Coco!) to join an oreillette making party!  Oreillettes (I think, literally, this translates as little ears!) are a local delicacy eaten with coffee.  The dough takes ages to make and requires large quantities of kneading, so we pitched up for the easy bit - rolling small pieces of the dough out as thinly as possible.  Masterchef Kevin seemed to enjoy this bit - making weird and random shapes...

...much to the irritation of Aurelie, who wanted to join in the shape-making!

The thin pieces of dough were passed to the frying team - Coco's parents, Mado and Bernard.  The dough is put into hot oil for a few moments until it turns golden and crispy, then it is fished out of the pan, drained on kitchen paper, and dredged with sugar.

Once cool, the oreillettes make a lovely accompaniment to a cup of coffee.
Yummers!
