I love it when interweb things "improve" stuff to make life easier - and then your photos won't upload. Here's another catch up!
Visiting friends from Sainte Marie-sur-Mer (44) took the opportunity to meet some of the stunning Cathar castles that are close to La Folie....
Peyrepertuse is a BIG castle on a BIG hill. (BTW, French pronunciation of its name being impossible, we pronounce it "Perpietroosie"). After clambering through the first part...
you can pause on the way up to the second part to catch your breath and forget that you're scared of heights...
...and enjoy the odd sensation of looking down on a mesmerisingly beautiful section of castle below you!
Queribus is similarly daftly perched
(and similarly daftly pronounced - "Queerybus" to these Anglais!)
Annick, Alain, and Kevin - relieved at having reached the front door!
The stunning views of the Aude countryside are well worth the climb.
Annick - thanks for the photos!

Magnificent views, thank you for sharing them. I am so intrigued by all the Cathar story.
