The Rock Island Line

Languedoc Roussillon style!
affectionately know locally as "Le Petit Train".

It is, indeed, a Little Train!
It runs all summer between Rivesaltes (near Perpignan) and Axat (near La Folie!),
through the stunning landscape of Languedoc Roussillon - forests, vineyards, and the foothills of the Pyrenees.

We were recently invited to a special trip on the Petit Train by the tourism department of the Mairie at Axat.  Kevin is clearly overjoyed by this and is doing his best to live up to his "special" status!

One great thing about a "special" trip is that you can visit the cab of the train and pretend you're driving it.  It may not be the Flying Scotsman, but my Dad would have been proud!

This is the view from the driver's seat!

And just one of the wonderful views along the way.
This is the River Aude as it runs through Axat.

Glad to note you were 'pretending to drive!' I still have memories of your version of, 'straight across at the roundabout!' ;-))

It made perfect sense to me! Anyway, no roundabouts on train lines.....
