Summer Fun

Being honoured by a visit from Kevin's son, David, gives us the opportunity to encounter some of the more energetic activities available in the neighbourhood.

Today's adventure was the Via Ferrata at St. Paul de Fenouillet.  It's a kind of "mountaineering for beginners" course, which allows those less terrified of heights than me to climb a real mountain with the help of hand-holds fastened to the rock and a lifeline to which your harness is attached at all times.  David was very lucky to be accompanied on the adventure by our friend Yvan

The adventurers, all harnessed up and ready to go.

David making climbing a mountain look easy!

Yvan on the "pont tibetain".  If this is what they call a bridge in Tibet, I'm not going!

It's not normal to look happy when you're standing on a wire miles up in the air!

Happy adventurers back on terra firma.
The peak slightly to the right of David's head is the end of their climb.
Phew!
