The snow is beginning to diminish, but not disappear (we still can't get Emily out onto the road!) and temperatures are "interesting". This morning it staggered all the way up to minus 6 Celsius at 9 o'clock. Lovely!
Three layers indoors: vest (not sexy, but neither are frozen boobs!); cotton long-sleeved polo neck; fleece.
Five layers outdoors: non-sexy vest; polo; fleece; another fleece; outdoor fleece that zips all the way up to the nose. Then add woolly hat, fake pashmina (I'm allergic to wool!), gloves, an extra pair of trousers over my indoor trousers, and I'm just about ready to take the dog out for a walk. Now where were those wellies...?

I'm overheating just thinking about all those layers!
Hope it warms up for you soon!
What, you mean that you don't have winter coats in France? :P
I love when it's only minus 6 Celsius outside... That's the kind of temperatures we've been having for a while in Québec and the news are saying that we're having an especially mild winter this year. Just the way I like it!
Does Athos like the snow? And now I'm wondering... Do you talk to the dog in French or in English?
I have a beautiful winter coat, with quilted velvet stand-up collar and cuffs. And a proper hat that matches it. In London I always used to finish off the outfit with a vintage cream silk gentleman's evening scarf (the sort that chaps wore with dinner suits in the 1920s). Trouble is, you look a bit of a twit setting off to walk the dog through the forest dressed like that!!!
I know that for you hardy Quebecois minus 6 is barely worthy of mention, but to me that's COLD!
The Hairy Boy loves the snow and, like most dogs, he speaks every language and no language. When he wants something, he'll respond to any language, when he doesn't want to do what he's told, he speaks only dog!! That said, we give him simple orders (assis, couche, pas bouger, au pied) in French, because that's how he learnt them from previous owners. More complicated things that we don't expect him to understand ("be a good dog, settle down, and watch Pointless", for example) we do in English!
Ah, Nanouk there you are ;-).
When we went to puppy training classes the trainer went to great lengths to point out that you can say what you like to a dog, all they are hearing is, 'Cookie, cookie, cookie. Did she say cookie? I think she did. I'm sure she did. Cookie, cookie, cookie; my favourite thing. Why doesn't she just shut up and give me a cookie?'
Yes, it's hard not to laugh when picturing you walking the dog in that outfit! But I'm sure the coat is gorgeous.
I'm happy to know that Athos watches Pointless with you! Bon chien.
